BELAGAVI: Even as former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi continues to be active in the Belagavi (Rural) constituency represented by Laxmi Hebbalkar, the verbal clash between both of them continues.
After holding two successful conventions at Sulebhavi and Hirebagewadi of the constituency in the past two weeks, Jarkiholi conducted another convention at Uchagaon on Tuesday. The convention attendees were served non-vegetarian food prepared using 1,200 kg of mutton.
The escalating support of the Jarkiholi faction and the crowds at the conventions organised by him have disturbed the Hebbalkar camp. Hebbalkar is leaving no stone unturned to lure voters in her constituency.
Addressing the Uchagaon convention, Ramesh Jarkiholi alleged that the blenders being distributed were made in Kanakapura. Kanakapura is a place known for duplication, he said, without mentioning the name of KPCC president DK Shivkumar.
He cautioned people who have availed of the blenders to use them carefully as he claimed they are of low quality.
"This time, people cannot fall into the temptation of electric appliances. One can fool a voter once with money or goodies, but not every time. The local MLA fooled the public by making roads and gutters but did not make any single concrete work. She didn’t even bring a high school to the constituency. She committed a grave injustice to the people of Belagavi rural constituency, therefore she must be defeated in the 2023 elections”, said Jarkiholi, targeting Hebbalkar. He said that residents of Belagavi rural are already showing results. They made BJP candidates victorious in the elections of all three seats of gram panchayats held recently. Meanwhile, he urged Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES) to support BJP, instead of fielding their candidate.
