The AAP leaders will take part in a party programme in Davangere that day, she added. “Women are given more priority in our party. Many women are actively working in the district. Deepika Mutha, the district president of the women's unit, is an aspirant for th Hubballi-Dharwad Central constituency ticket,” she said.
PM to address Vijay Sankalp Yatra valedictory Hubballi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the valedictory of Vijay Sankalp Yatra in Davanagere on March 25. Nearly 10 lakh people are expected at the mega convention, said State BJP general secretary Mahesh Tenginkai. He to reporters here on Tuesday the Yatra, aimed at ‘Mission 150’ in the assembly elections, will begin from four corners in the state, and they will cover around 8,000km before culminating in Davangere on March 25, he added. The yatra would begin from Male Mahadeshwara Betta on March 1, Nandagad on March 2, and Basavakalyan and Devanahalli on March 3. The yatra from Nandagad, to be inaugurated by defence minister Rajnath Singh on March 2, will cover Belagavi, Vijayapura, Bagalkot, Gadag, Dharwad, Uttara Kannada and Haveri districts.
Flower-on-ear protest by BJP memberKoppal: A protest by Congress leaders using flowers on their ears was widely debated in the assembly session. However, it was seen at Koppal city municipal council on Tuesday. BJP member Somanna Halli, who represents ward-16 in CMC, protested by keeping a piece of garland on his ear at the general body meeting. He moved to the front seat of the CMC president's seat and started an agitation. He accused CMC president Shivaganga Bhumakkanavar of discrimination in releasing funds for his ward. “Despite many requests for funds for a community hall in my ward, she is not releasing money but is releasing funds for wards being represented by Congress members,” he added. His protest became a reason for a blame
game between BJP and Congress members for a while. CMC commissioner HN Bhajakkanavar said there is no provision to construct a community hall on land belonging to the revenue department.

Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, TiE Hubli Women president Shravani Pawar said that the theme for this year is ‘Converge, Create, Elevate’. TiE Hubli has been supporting entrepreneurship since 2009 in the Uttara Karnataka region with a special focus on women and young entrepreneurs. As every year TiE Hubli will confer its annual awards recognising outstanding achievement and contribution. These awards will be presented on the same day, she said. Train speed increasedHubballi: South Western Railway has decided to speed up and revise the arrival timings at SSS Hubballi of Train No. 17391 KSR Bengaluru – SSS Hubballi Daily Express from March 1, effective on its journey from KSR Bengaluru. Accordingly, this train will arrive at SSS Hubballi at 9:05am instead of 9:35am. There will be no change in the timings of this train between KSR Bengaluru and SMM Haveri.
