Google Pixel phones started to crash, After playing a “spooky” YouTube video

A peculiar issue is plaguing Google’s Pixel 7 line. Reddit users have reported that a particular YouTube video is causing the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro to abruptly shut down.

Pakyong, 1 March: The issue is largely affecting the most recent Google flagships, while some Pixel 6 and Pixel 6a users have also been afflicted. This only occurs when the video is opened via the YouTube app. At your own risk, you can watch the video here. It’s important to note that certain Pixel 7/7 Pro customers have reported experiencing cellular connectivity issues following a reset. But, after restarting the phone, the issue appears to be fixed.

While the majority of earlier Pixels with Snapdragon-based processors can play the video without any hiccups, some people are also making the assumption that Google’s Tensor chip is to blame for the crashing issue. Tensor chip is based on Samsung’s Exynos chip, and both have previously experienced difficulties playing HDR content. In the meantime, users on Reddit are equating this problem with the wallpaper-crashing issues that Samsung and Google phones may have in 2020. A few others are also utilizing this issue as an excuse to pull practical jokes on Pixel 7 customers by forwarding them the video. On this subject, Google has not yet released an official remark.
