Noose stucks on man’s neck as he threatens to end life, dies

Kanpur: A man dies as his prank goes wrong while he was trying to scare his wife by putting a noose around his neck. Amit Dubey alias Chhotu, 28, a resident of Old Kanpur, worked as a compounder at the clinic of a city based doctor. He was married to one Shweta, a resident of Shuklaganj Unnao, on February 10, 2022.
On Monday night Amit came home in an inebriated state and had an argument with wife over some issue. He threatened his wife to commit suicide. Later, he locked the door from inside and started threatening his wife by putting a noose around his neck. However, in his prank he somehow lost balance, and the noose got stuck on his neck. On seeing this his wife raised an alarm after which other inmates of the house rushed to the room and brought him down in an unconscious state.Amit was rushed to doctor, who announced him dead on arrival.
During preliminary findings it came to fore that the man was a liquor addict, and often used to quarrel with his family members. “On Monday night, he was playing a prank telling his wife that if she will resist to his habit of consuming liquor, he will commit suicide,” said inspector Kohna, adding, “Body has been sent for postmortem.”
