Siliguri, 01 March : Today, Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar criticized the illegal encroachment of public roads and footpaths in and around Siliguri city. He conducted a survey of the Sevoke area and was displeased to see various shops illegally occupying the roads to conduct their businesses, while the footpaths were inaccessible to the general public due to encroachment. Such misuse of public property by traders will cause inconvenience to the general public, elderly citizens, and children.

These practices are dilapidated and haphazard, and need to be rectified to ensure the smooth functioning of public infrastructure.

Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar appeals public as well as shop owners to cooperate for making Siliguri better by avoiding encroachment , he adds that everyone’s participation with moral responsibility can make better Siliguri city.
