HYDERABAD: The 21-year-old engineering student, who beheaded his friend and ripped out his heart for allegedly harassing his girlfriend, had planned to commit the macabre act three months ago. After committing the murder, the accused set ablaze the dismembered body parts to destroy evidence. On Monday, police moved a petition before a local court seeking his custody for eight days.
In the remand report of the accused, P Hari Hara Krishna, a final-year B Tech student of an engineering college in Peerzadiguda, police alleged that about two months ago he purchased a steel knife and gloves to murder N Naveen, 22, B Tech final-year student of Mahatma Gandhi University in Narketpally.

"Krishna was in love with Naveen's ex-girlfriend. Naveen continued to call her even after they broke up, Krishna felt threatened and decided to eliminate him three months ago," said a Rachakonda police official.
As per the plan, two months ago, Krishna purchased a steel knife from D Mart at Malakpet and two pairs of gloves from a medical shop nearby, police mentioned in the remand report.
On February 17, a few hours before committing the gruesome act, Krishna had lunch with Naveen at LB Nagar and then took him home. Both of them met a friend of Krishna's. Krishna borrowed 18,000 through a loan app and they helped her purchase a cell phone for 30,000.
At around 9.30pm, when the victim wanted to return to his college hostel in Narketpally, the accused picked up the backpack containing the knife and the gloves. They consumed liquor at a shop in Pedda Amberpet and then rode a bike to an isolated area near Rama Devi Public School in Abdullapurmet.
"The accused throttled the victim and then beheaded him using the knife. He ripped out his heart after opening his stomach and then chopped off the private parts along with fingers. He stuffed the severed body parts in a backpack and threw them at different places near Brahmanpally in the city outskirts. Subsequently, he went to a friend, Hasan's house in Brahmanpally and cleaned himself. Later in the morning, he told his girlfriend and Hasan about the murder. They advised him to surrender before the cops," police said.
However, instead of immediately surrendering before the cops, Krishna travelled to Kodad, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam to evade possible police investigation.
On February 23, Krishna met his father at Warangal. On the same day, he picked up Naveen's thrown body parts and set them ablaze at Abdullapurmet. Realising that arrest was imminent, he surrendered before the cops on February 24 afternoon, police said.
