Woman assaulted in Karnataka's Kodagu district
An Assamese labourer allegedly assaulted a woman at her house in Kakuru village in Kodagu district on Monday.
MYSURU: An Assamese labourer allegedly assaulted a woman at her house in Kakuru village in Kodagu district on Monday.
Srimangala police have arrested Rajib, 27, a labourer who lives at the line house in the estate of Mecheera Chippa. Chippa had sent some labourers, including Rajib, to the house of his relative Chokeera Kavita, 49, wife of late Satish.
After reaching Chokeera Kavita’s house, Rajib asked for coffee and had it. Later, he asked for money from Kavita, and when she did not oblige, he assaulted her.
Kavita, who suffered injuries on her head and face, is being treated at Srimangala Karuna Trust Hospital.
A case has been registered at Srimangala police station under IPC Section 307 (attempt to murder).
