AAP leaders Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain resign ministership
The announcement came soon after the Supreme Court refused to entertain the bail plea contesting the arrest of Sisodia by the CBI in the ongoing liquor policy case.

The Aam Aadmi Party leaders Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain on Tuesday resigned from ministership. The announcement came soon after the Supreme Court refused to entertain the bail plea contesting the arrest of Sisodia by the CBI in the ongoing liquor policy case.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal accepted their resignations.
Reports said the portfolios of both Delhi ministers will be given to Delhi cabinet ministers Kailash Gahlot & Raaj Kumar Anand.
Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI after being questioned for eight hours on Sunday in the liquor policy scam case. The court directed the probe agency to carry out Sisodia’s custody under the surveillance of CCTV cameras, as per the Supreme Court guidelines.
The Top Court dismissed the bail petition filed by Sisodia and stated that the Court cannot intervene in the matter just because the incident took place in Delhi. The Court also said it would set a very wrong precedent.
Reports said the Aam Aadmi party will now move to the Delhi High Court pertaining to the Deputy CM’s arrest by the CBI.
Satyendar Kumar Jain was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on May 30, 2022, under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The CBI filed a case against Jain and his family in August 2017 and alleged that the Delhi Minister, along with his family, set up four shell firms to launder Rs 11.78 crore in 2011-12 and Rs 4.63 crore in 2015-16.
The ED began its investigation based on the claims by the CBI’s FIR and attached assets worth Rs 4.81 crore of Satyendar Jain and his family’s companies beneficially owned and controlled by him.
