Fake examinees: UP Board set to derecognize schools
Prayagraj: UP Secondary Education Board (UPSEB) would initiate the process to withdraw recognition of schools from where impersonators have been caught appearing for real candidates during the ongoing UP Board exams.
Besides, the Board will also permanently debar such schools from being made examination centres.
The move is part of zero-tolerance policy adopted by the Board to check use of unfair means in exams. So far, Board officials have managed to nab 100 impersonators. Board secretary Divya Kant Shukla said all officers of the department have been apprised about this decision and all sensitive examination centres are being monitored continuously. On Monday, science papers for class 10 (first shift) and mathematics and biology for class 12 (second shift) were held.
A total of 31,11,714 candidates were registered for high school and 15,84,418 for intermediate. The Board, through its regional offices, got the strongrooms of 2800 examination centres checked before the Monday’s exam.
