Share price of Shriram Trans Fin falls as Sensex drops 56.52 points

The share price of Shriram Finance Ltd. dropped 0.52 per cent to Rs 1196.3 at 12:14PM (IST) in Tuesday's trade. The scrip has hit a high of Rs 1210.95 and low of Rs 1194.75 so far during the session. The stock had closed at Rs 1202.5 in the previous session.

The counter has had a total traded volume of 3445 shares so far with a value of Rs 0.41 crore on the NSE. It traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 9.11 and a price-to-book ratio of 1.18.

A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price for per rupee earnings given by the stock because of better future growth expectations.

The price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and reflects the price investors are willing to pay even for no growth in the business.

The scrip gained 6.39 per cent during the past one year, while the 30-share index advanced 6.04 per cent during the same period.

The company reported consolidated sales of Rs 7809.39 crore for the quarter ended 31-Dec-2022, up 45.93 per cent from the previous quarter's Rs 5351.28 crore and up 61.61 per cent from the year-ago quarter's Rs 4832.33 crore.

Profit for the latest quarter stood at Rs 1798.88 crore, up 162.22 per cent from the same quarter a year ago.
