Man’s ear chopped off during clash

Ludhiana: Two groups involved in the same business clashed outside Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Saturday evening over loss of customers. One group attacked and assaulted the other group with scissors during which a man’s ear was chopped off. The incident was captured on a CCTV camera.
The injured, identified as Sunny, was admitted to the hospital. Later, he underwent a surgery.
Sunny’s brother Mani told police that he used to work at a medical store near DMCH. A few months ago, he had left the job and started his own business of medical equipment near the hospital. The accused shopkeeper nurtured a rivalry against them as the customers started purchasing equipment from his shop. On Saturday evening, when he and Sunny were at the shop, the accused attacked him. When Sunny came to rescue him, the accused assaulted him too with scissors and cut off his ear.
police have lodged an FIR in this matter and the accused will be arrested soon.
