BSF officer held for ‘assaulting’ cop over parking

Bhubaneswar: A BSF officer was arrested for allegedly assaulting a constable following an altercation over the former’s parking of a two-wheeler at VSS Nagar market here on Sunday.
Saheed Nagar police arrested Sangram Kumar Biswal, 50, an assistant commandant with the BSF in Kolkata, following a complaint lodged by the constable Manoj Kumar Behera.
Behera was on duty at the market when he found a two-wheeler parked in the middle of the road, causing traffic snarls. “When Behera asked Biswal to remove the bike, the accused intimidated Behera by introducing himself as a DSP,” said deputy commissioner of police Prateek Singh.
