Ayyappanum Koshiyum, Lucifer, Kappela, Joseph, Angamali Diaries, and maheshinte prathikaram are recent examples of popular malayalam films that have been remade in telugu, however none of them have been able to top the original. The original versions still seem to be superior, despite the possibility that budget, collections, and adjustments played a role. Just a small number of films, like the premam and Dhishyam series, have been successfully reproduced; Dhishyam 2's telugu version, which was published straight on OTT platforms, did well at the box office.

It can be dangerous to translate malayalam films into other languages. If viewers have already watched the original, the remake might not provide anything new. If the recreation is an exact replica of the original, viewers might not find it interesting. While some malayalam films have found success in other languages, many haven't been able to match the original's level of popularity.
