THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The second phase of the assembly session, which had taken a break on February 9, will resume on Monday and continue till March 30.
Five ministers had met the governor to persuade him to sign the pending bills and also get his nod to introduce a bill for constituting a temporary syndicate for Calicut University. Since the governor failed to give any assurances, the government is unlikely to introduce the bill in the present session. The
budget tax proposals triggered a strong protest against the government in the first phase of the session. The second phase is likely to witness another set of issues targeted against the treasury benches.
M Sivasankar’s arrest by ED and the questioning of C M Raveendran, private secretary to the chief minister, scheduled on Monday in the Life Mission case are likely to put the government in the dock. Money pilferage from CMDRF is another issue which the opposition will rake up in the
House.
