JAIPUR: The
Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) has started the process of connecting 6,000 villages in the state with bus services, said officials on Sunday. Complying with chief minister
Ashok Gehlot’s 2021-22
budget announcement, the RSRTC has issued the tender for the project which will be completed in different phases.
An official statement released by RSRTC said that transport service in rural areas of the state will be started in both Jaipur and Jodhpur divisions by the middle of May or by the first week of June. Work is underway for remaining five divisions too where rural areas are to be connected with transport services, said officials.
“In the first phase of the scheme, PPP will be implemented in 11 districts of Jaipur and Jodhpur division. This will connect around 2,600 gram panchayats with transport service. For the implementation of this scheme, RITES Ltd was appointed as expert advisor by the corporation that prepared a report on the routes where buses can be started. Their report was submitted to the state government which has been approved by the finance department and the tender has been issued for the project,” said Nathmal Didel, managing director of RSRTC.
Officials said that from Monday, interested persons/firms can see the details of the tender on the website eproc.rajasthan.gov.in, eppp.raj.nic.in and transport.rajasthan.gov.in.
