Power department gears up for summer supply in UP

LUCKNOW: The state government on Sunday claimed to have started preparations on a war footing to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the wake of early advent of summers.
UPPCL chairman, M Devaraj, while addressing the officials of the distribution companies through video conferencing from Shakti Bhawan, said that all necessary preparations should be completed as soon as possible to ensure power supply to all areas of the state as per the fixed schedule.
He said that any kind of negligence will not be tolerated.
Devaraj said that necessary maintenance should be ensured for the transformer and steps should be taken to address the problem of overloading.
He said that 251059 transformers have been changed in the current financial year to improve the power system. Similarly, 17782 kilometers of Aerial Bunch Cables have been installed to prevent electricity theft.
Besides this, 51550 private tube wells have been classified in this financial year to increase irrigation facilities in the state.
