Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), India's largest player in the polyester value chain, has kept prices unchanged for three key chemicals used in the industry: purified terephthalic acid (PTA), monoethylene glycol (MEG), and MELT. Last week, the company decreased prices of PTA and MELT. However, MEG was kept unchanged.

Reliance kept prices unchanged at ₹81.20 per kg for PTA, ₹57.10 per kg for MEG, and ₹89.25 per kg for MELT, according to industry sources. The pricing of polyester raw materials came into effect on Saturday.

In the beginning of this fortnight, the company had kept the price of polyester staple fibre (PSF) unchanged at ₹106 per kg.

Reliance reviews the price trends in China and the fluctuations in crude oil prices to fix the prices of its polyester raw materials. Indian market follows the price trends of Reliance as it is the dominant player in the country.
