Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal says most CBI officers were against Manish Sisodia’s arrest but had to obey their political masters
Sisodia was arrested by the central probe agency after eight hours of questioning in the Delhi excise scam.

A day after Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s arrest in a liquor policy scam, CM Arvind Kejriwal took a dig at Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officers and claimed that most of them are against the former’s arrest due to lack of evidence but were forced to do so due to the pressure of their political masters.
Taking to Twitter, Kejriwal wrote that he is being told that most CBI officers are against Manish’s arrest. All of them have huge respect for him, and there is no evidence against him, but the political pressure to arrest him was so high that they had to obey their political masters.
Shortly after Kejriwal made claims about the CBI officers, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Manoj Tiwari said the Delhi chief minister had also spread such fake news regarding Intelligence Bureau (IB) during the Gujarat assembly election.

Sisodia was arrested by the central probe agency after eight hours of questioning in the Delhi excise scam. After his arrest, the CBI released a statement in which they claimed that Sisodia gave evasive replies and wasn’t cooperating in the ongoing investigation of the liquor scam case.
A few hours before going to the CBI, Sisodia held a roadshow with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supporters and said he was being framed in a fake case because the BJP was scared of AAP’s strides.

Day after Manish Sisodia’s arrest, AAP to hold nationwide protest
Delhi Governor VK Saxena had last year directed the CBI to investigate an excise scam case against the Delhi Government after the BJP alleged AAP of corruption after the AAP retracted the new liquor policy.

The Aam Aadmi Party is set to hold nationwide protests following the arrest of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. As per the reports, the party will also demonstrate in front of the BJP headquarters in Delhi.

After the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal’s most trusted aide, the former tweeted and called the Deputy CM innocent and called his arrest to be dirty politics. Kejriwal, in his tweet, said that everyone is watching and that the people understand everything.
He further wrote that he trusts the people to react to the news of Sisodia’s arrest and also added that his arrest lifts the spirits and unites the people to fight and struggle together.
Soon after the arrest of Manish Sisodia, AAP’s counterpart BJP changed their target from the Deputy CM to the CM of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal. The Saffron party dubbed the Delhi CM to be the mastermind behind the excise scam, according to reports.

Congress announces new march from east to west after Bharat Jodo Yatra
The Yatra will be shorter in duration than the Bharat Jodo Yatra, he said, and more decisions would be made in the coming weeks.

Weeks after the successful completion of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Congress has now announced a new march from east to west. The move came after the party concluded the three-day Plenary Session in Chattisgarh’s Raipur.
The party spokesperson Jairam Ramesh said that the east-to-west yatra will be carried out from Arunachal Pradesh’s Pasighat and culminate in Gujarat’s Porbandar ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
According to Ramesh, the yatra could be undertaken before June or November and would be of a shorter duration than its predecessor. Mostly it would be a padayatra, he added. It may not have such an elaborate infrastructure that was mobilized for the Bharat Jodo Yatra and may have fewer yatris, he said.
Ramesh said the yatra would primarily be a foot march but pointed out that as the route from east to west is covered with thick forests and wide rivers, there would be some areas where multi-modal travel might be required.
Rahul Gandhi, who had guided the party’s nationwide march that ended in Kashmir in January, had earlier called for taking forward the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Traversing through 13 states and one Union Territory, it covered a distance of over 4,000 km.
The Yatra will be shorter in duration than the Bharat Jodo Yatra, he said, and more decisions would be made in the coming weeks.
