Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 2.18%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Monday.

Shares of Macrotech Developers(up 12.25 per cent), SOBHA(up 2.43 per cent), Indiabulls Real Estate(up 2.35 per cent), Brigade Enterprises(up 2.03 per cent) and Godrej Properties(up 1.23 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Sunteck Realty(down 1.92 per cent) and Prestige Estates Projects(down 0.49 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 2.18 per cent up at 388.75.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 73.1 points at 17392.7, while the BSE Sensex stood down 175.58 points at 59288.35.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 16 ended in the green, while 34 closed in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, PNB, Tata Steel and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Vaishali Pharma, Aarti Surfactants(PP), Nintec Systems Ltd., Soma Textiles and Spectrum Electrical hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Mangalam Global Ent, Uflex, Antarctica Ltd, Shree Rama News and OrissaBengalCarrier hit their fresh 52-week lows.
