Retired cop found hanging on housing complex roof in Kolkata

KOLKATA: The body of a 67-year-old retired policeman was found hanging from the iron beam on the roof of a housing complex at Nayabad off EM Bypass on Sunday. Neighbours said Bijoy Mandal had been living in the complex for several years.
Cops have found a suicide note where Mandal claimed he was killing himself because of a chronic illness and didn’t blame anyone for his death.
His wife was home when he allegedly climbed upstairs after midnight and hanged himself.
Officers said the man had retired as a senior constable with Midnapore district police.
