As the candidates eagerly await this year's NEET and FMGE examinations, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has released the list of all recognised and approved medical colleges in the country indicating the number of MBBS and CRMI seats available for Foreign Medical Graduates.

The data is published against the backdrop of NMC receiving several requests and representations regarding the number of medical institutes allowed to conduct Compulsory Rotating Medical Internship (CRMI) for FMGs.

Rajamahendravaram medical college to begin functioning with 150 MBBS seats from this academic year

In accordance with the AP government's promise to establish five medical colleges in each district, the construction work of the Rajamahendravaram medical college is progressing rapidly and is set to start functioning with 150 MBBS seats from this 2023–24 academic year.

This comes with the announcement from Rajahmundry MP Margani Bharat Ram, who recently inspected the construction site and confirmed that the construction of the medical college is progressing rapidly with the most advanced technology in Rajahmundry.

Rajamahendravaram Medical College To Start Functioning From This Academic Year With 150 MBBS Seats

NCDRC absolves surgeon, Indraprastha Apollo Director from medical negligence charges in process of resection of Space Occupying Lesion

Holding that the senior liver specialist performed his duty in the interest of the patient, the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) has absolved the senior surgeon; the Director of Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi; Medical Council of India (MCI) and Delhi Medical Council (DMC) from charges of alleged medical negligence in process of resection of Space Occupying Lesion (SOL).

This Complaint was filed by legal heirs of a patient against the Director, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi and the doctor, a senior surgeon in the Dept of HPB Surgery and Organ Transplant.

CDSCO panel tells Hetero to submit justification for FDC Lacosamide, Brivaracetam

In line with the drug maker Hetero Pharma's proposal for the fixed-dose combination Lacosamide plus Brivaracetam, the Subject Expert Committee (SEC) functional under the Central Drug Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has opined the firm to submit the justification in respect to the combination drug to the CDSCO for further review by the committee.

This came after the drug maker Hetero Pharma presented its proposal along with bioequivalence (BE) and Phase III clinical trial protocol before the committee.

Mumbai MD, MS doctors soon to get postings for mandatory District Residency Programme

The Postgraduate doctors in Mumbai are soon going to be posted to the peripheral, maternity hospitals and dispensaries run by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, in compliance with the District Residency Programme.

Since the National Medical Commission (NMC) has made it mandatory for the PG medical students to undergo district residency for three months, the medical colleges in Mumbai recently discussed about the roadmap for implementing the DRP.
