The Pune Zilha Parishad flying squad detected mass cheating during the Class XII Board Examination at Kedgaon, Daund, and filed an FIR against those suspected of aiding and abetting cheating. The squad seized and handed over the cheating material to the police, and the exam centre in charge and eight teachers were booked under the Maharashtra Public University Act 2016. Despite the state government’s “Copy free exam campaign,” reports of mass cheating are still emerging from various areas of the state. The Pune Zilha Parishad has been working with the police and municipal corporations to enforce the campaign and provide study material and exam paper analysis to schools.

In another news, after holding a chain fast for a year against the River Front Development (RFD) project of the Mula-Mutha river in the city, social activists and civil society members decided to aggressively protest against the project to avoid environmental damage.

The play, Lavani ke Rang, had premiered in Mumbai in November 2022 as part of the Prithvi Theatre Festival but the Pune show gained extra significance as it took place a few days after NCP leader Ajit Pawar had issued instructions that the party will not conduct erotic public performances under the pretext of the dance form. His order came after a Lavani performer, Megha Ghadge, had objected to the dilution of the folk art form by performers who used DJs and obscene gestures.
