A carjacking suspect was arrested in Sanilac County Monday.

A person accused of carjacking a 78-year-old man in Oakland County early Monday was arrested in Sanilac County, the Michigan State Police posted on Twitter.

Troopers were responded to an address on East Holly Road in Groveland regarding a carjacking complaint shortly before 7 a.m.

The victim told troopers he was at the Mobil gas station in the village of Holly when he returned to his vehicle to find the suspect hiding in his back seat and claiming to have a gun.

The suspect advised the victim to drive, and the victim drove home to his residence. After the 78-yearold exited the victim, the suspect took the vehicle and drove away, MSP said.

The vehicle was disabled near 4130 First Street in Brown City. Troopers and local officers approached the vehicle and saw the suspect walking toward the vehicle.

The suspect resisted arrest and a Sanilac County deputy deployed his Taser on the suspect and ultimately took him into custody without further incident. A gun was not located and the case will be sent to the prosecutor's office for review.
