PATNA: In the midst of tight security in the state capital, a property dealer and his associate were shot dead by the unidentified armed miscreants at Jol Bigha village of Bypass police station area in
Patna during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. According to the police, both the victims died on the spot.
The deceased were identified as
Sanjeev Kumar (35), a property dealer and resident of Mehendiganj area in Patna City and his clerk Rajesh Kumar (36). The incident took place around midnight near Gopalpur, when both of them were returning home on their bike after visiting the nearby farm in Bypass area. Two bike-borne miscreants chased them and fired 5 to 6 shots. Sanjeev suffered three bullet injuries in the head and chest whereas Rajesh was shot twice. Both of them fell from the vehicle and died. After the murder, the bodies of both were thrown in the bushes.
After the incident, officers from Gopalpur and Bypass police stations reached to the spot. The police recovered the bodies from the spot and sent to the NMCH-Patna for the post-mortem. A complaint has been registered against unknown assailants at the Bypass police station on the statement of the family members.
