Three Keralites threaten man with air pistol, arrested

COIMBATORE: The Thudiyalur police arrested three men from Kerala for threatening a Kavundampalayam resident with an air pistol on Friday.
The arrested people were identified as J Dhilip, 23, an educational consultant, S Kishore, 23, a social media influencer and H Sameer, 33, employee of an educational institution, from Palakkad in Kerala.
The men, who were heading towards Ooty in a car, were heavily drunk, police said. “They got out of the car and confronted K Arun, 26, on Mettupalayam Road around 12.20am on Friday. Arun, a native of Thiruvanavasal in Pudukkottai, is working as a cook and staying at Kavundampalayam. The trio asked him to walk slowly and indulged in a verbal duel. Dhilip pointed an air pistol at him and threatened him with dire consequences. They also threatened the motorists who stopped their vehicles and tried to intervene,” a police officer said.
Locals alerted police, who rushed to the spot and arrested the trio. They were booked under sections 294 (b) and 506 (ii) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 27 (1) of the Arms Act, 1959, and lodged in the Coimbatore Central Prison.
