Hubballi: The Tibetan Chamber of Commerce will hold a weeklong Tibetan festival from February 27 at Lhamo Tsokpa ground, camp 3 at Mundgod taluk of Uttar Kannada district. CEO Tsering Topgyal told reporters here on Saturday the celebration of Tibetan culture and heritage will be a treat for visitors. The festival will showcase a diverse range of events, including traditional music and dance, live creation of sand mandala, carpet-weaving, thangka painting, exhibition-cum-sale of Tibetan handicrafts, and delicious Tibetan cuisine. There will also be Tibet medical camp, traditional Tibetan sports, talks on Tibetan Buddhism, Tibetan medicine, and the current political situation. The festival is aimed at promoting and preserving Tibetan cultural heritage and provide a platform for Tibetan artists, musicians, and craftspeople.

Hindustani concert at Srujana Auditorum todayDharwad: Bharateeya Sangeet Vidyalaya will organise a Hindustani classical music programme on Sunday at Srujana auditorium in Dharwad at 5.45pm. Vocalist Balachandra Nakod and flautist Samee Rao of Mysuru will perform. They will be accompanied on tabla by Uday Kulkarni and on harmonium by Bharat Hegde. State-level moot court contest begins at KSLUHubballi: Law students should preserve and uphold the sanctity of Kannada language and they have the responsibility to serve society, said Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti. Inaugurating the 10th state-level moot court competition here at Karnataka State Law University on Saturday, Horatti shared the experiences of his journey holding various responsibilities as a teacher and legislator. He appreciated the efforts of students and the university for upholding law education in the state. Delivering presidential remarks, KSLU vice-chancellor Prof C Basavaraju said moot court competitions are critical and indispensable for law students and such competitions prepare them for professional life and chisel their skills of persuasion and research. He reminded the students of their responsibility as future advocates for the country to work towards building a progressive society. Forty teams from across the state are vying for honuors.
