LAURIYA (WEST CHAMPARAN): Union home minister Amit Shah on Saturday declared that the doors of the BJP are now permanently shut for chief minister Nitish Kumar whose prime ministerial ambition has left Bihar ravaged.
Sounding the poll bugle from this historical place where the remains of the Mauryan period have been found, Shah said Nitish is a kind of politician who dreams for the PM post every third year. "Nitish aise vyakti hain jinko har teen saal me PM ka sapna aata hai," Shah said.
This was his third visit to the state since Nitish parted ways with BJP and formed the Grand Alliance government with RJD, Congress and the Left in August last year.
“But, enough of aaya Ram, gaya Ram. Now the doors of the BJP are closed for him forever,” Shah said, adding Nitish had gone in the company of Lalu Prasad and Sonia Gandhi to keep his PM dream alive.
He accused Nitish of becoming “avsarwadi” (opportunist) from “vikaswadi” just because of his dream for the PM’s post but “2024 mein Modiji hi rahenge (Narendra Modi will remain the PM after 2024 Lok Sabha polls)”.
He wondered how Nitish, after fighting his entire life against Congress and ‘jungle raj’ has now gone with Sonia and Lalu and termed their pact as “unholy”. He described the relation between Nitish and Lalu as that of “water and oil” which can’t mix up. He described JD(U) of Nitish as water and Lalu’s RJD as oil, alleging the entire state is burning from the fire of ‘lantern’, the poll symbol of RJD.
Shah alleged the law and order situation has touched its nadir since Nitish joined hands with Lalu and exhorted the masses to re-elect Modi as PM to “free Bihar from jungle raj”. He appealed to the masses to vote for the BJP to teach a lesson to Nitish-led Grand Alliance.
The former BJP chief asked Nitish to fulfill his promise of handing over his throne to Lalu’s son (Tejashwi Yadav), charging the former with not revealing the date of power transfer.
Stating that Bihar can't grow under Nitish and Lalu, Shah said it is high time BJP form government with full majority and this tone can be set in the next Lok Sabha polls by winning all the 40 seats in the state.
He said the BJP had made Nitish the CM of Bihar despite it winning more seats than the JD(U) and charged Nitish with stalling the development projects of the Centre.
In his speech that lasted nearly half an hour, Shah also touched upon certain steps launched by his government such as such as the surgical strike, abrogation of Article 370 and ban on I
