MANGALURU: The pending results of the UG second semester examinations, held in September/ October 2022, will be announced within a week, said Raju Krishna Chalannavar, registrar (evaluation), Mangalore University (MU).
MU has invited the wrath of students and faculty for the unprecedented delay — of nearly five months — to complete evaluation of the second, fourth, and sixth-semester exam papers. Regarding the September/ October UG exams 2022, Chalannavar told STOI that MU has so far announced the results for the sixth and fourth semesters. The university has managed to publish the results of only BCA and BHRD (second semester) to date. “The pending results of the second semester will be announced in a week. The delay was due to a snag in UUCMS (Unified University College Management System). MU has 70% access to UUCMS, and the rest of access is still with its head office in Bengaluru. We are demanding for complete access, which will resolve all these issues,” Chalannavar added.
Meanwhile, MU has published about 99% of postgraduate first-semester results. In the second semester of PG, the university announced the results of only the MBA, and the results of the rest courses are on hold due to UUCMS, said Chalannavar. To solve the UUCMS issue, the university is planning to take MU’s technical staff to Bengaluru and get them trained by those handling the system or to invite experts managing it to MU campus to train the staff here.
Commerce/ language evaluation Currently, exams for the first, third, and fifth semesters are in progress. In order to expedite the evaluation process, Chalannavar said that language and commerce subjects will be evaluated on a priority. The ongoing semester exam will be completed on February 27. “The evaluation will commence on March 1 with language papers, followed by BA and BCA courses on March 10. BCom/ BBA exam papers will be evaluated from March 12. We are expecting to complete the entire evaluation by March-end,” said Raju Krishna Chalannavar.
