Bhiwani killings: Kaithal village bans cops from Rajasthan to save accused

KAITHAL: Residents of Baba Ludana in Kaithal district have imposed a ban on the entry of the Rajasthan Police in their village to nab Kalu, one of the accused in the killings of Junaid and Nasir.
Baba Ludana residents held a panchayat on Saturday and decided to ban the entry of Rajasthan police teams, which have been conducting raids in the area for the last one week to apprehend the accused involved in the case.
The residents also made an announcement to hold a mahapanchayat on March 1 in Baba Ludana in which over 15 villages would participate and plan future course of action in connection with the arrest of Kalu, a member of Gau Raksha Dal, who had been named in the FIR. The residents formed a 15-member committee which will invite nearby villages to the mahapanchayat.
"We will not allow the arrest of any accused or interrogation without the presence of prominent people of the village. In the mahapanchayat, people will demand for CBI inquiry in the alleged murder case of Junaid and Nasir. If Kalu is found guilty in the inquiry, people will support officials, else we will not allow any action against him. A memorandum of demands will be submitted to the Kaithal SP and members of the committee will ensure implementation of the decision made by the panchayat on Saturday," said Gurnam Singh, sarpanch, Baba Ludana.

The sarpanch further said members of the Bajrang Dal and the Gau Raksha Dal also took part in the meeting and the police action would not be allowed against the accused. The police officials will have to inform the panchayat before entering the village, he said.
