Woman kills husband, two minor stepsons over property row in UP's Gorakhpur

GORAKHPUR: A woman allegedly killed her husband and two stepsons by attacking them with a stick and knife while they were sleeping in Sahabganj area under Sahjanwa police limits of the district late on Saturday.
The police have lodged an FIR under sections 302, 307 and 324 of IPC and recovered the knife and stick used in the crime from the spot.
The accused, Neelam Gupta (32), has been arrested.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to her crime and said that she killed her husband Awdhesh Kumar Gupta (35) and two stepsons, Aryan (7) and Aroh (6), as she was denied a share in the property.
“She also claimed that Awdhesh had an evil eye on her daughter,” said SP, City, Krishna Kumar.
After committing the murders, the accused called up the police and told them that some miscreants were thrashing her husband and children
Sahjanwa police reached the spot and rushed the trio to the district hospital, where doctors declared them dead.
Sources said after the death of his first wife, Awdhesh had married Neelam around a year ago. Awdhesh was Neelam’s second husband. She also had a daughter from her first husband Akhilesh, police said.
