Delhi Police on Sunday detained AAP MP Sanjay Singh, MLAs Saurabh Bharadwaj, Gopal Rai, and around 50 other party leaders protesting outside the office of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) amid the interrogation of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the alleged now-scrapped Delhi liquor policy scam.

The national capital police also detained MLA Durgesh Pathak and Rakhi Bidlan. The party leaders and workers who were staging a protest near the CBI office were taken to a nearby police station by the Delhi Police.

The AAP workers gathered in huge numbers outside the CBI headquarters and Sisodia’s house to show unity and strength ahead of Sisodia’s questioning by the CBI. Police personnel was deployed and Section 144 was imposed in the area to handle the ruckus created by the AAP leaders.

Ahead of Sisodia’s questioning, MP Sanjay Singh took to Twitter and made the startling claims. He wrote This is Prime Minister Narendra) Modi’s police. They may or may not be able to prevent crimes, but they are using all their power to arrest Manish Sisodia. AAP leaders are being put under house arrest. Why are you so scared of (chief minister) Arvind Kejriwal, Modi ji? You can do anything you want, but you will fail, tweeted Singh.

A similar incident took place on October 22 when Deputy CM was called to join the investigation for the first time.

The central probe agency is interrogating Manish Sisodia in the alleged Delhi excise scam. Earlier, he was supposed to appear before the CBI on February 19, but he sought more time, stating that he is currently preparing the Delhi budget and that his arrest would derail the project.

Ahead of the questioning by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on the alleged liquor policy scam, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Sunday said that he is not scared even if he is incarcerated for a few months since he is a follower of Bhagat Singh.

Taking to Twitter, the Deputy CM wrote Going to CBI again today, will cooperate fully in the investigation. The love of lakhs of children and the blessings of crores of countrymen are with him. He further said he doesn’t care if he has to spend a few months in jail, stating that he is a follower of Bhagat Singh, the freedom fighter who was hanged to death for the country.
