Postpone NEET PG 2023: Supreme Court adjourns hearing till February 27
Two petitions were filed by the NEET PG aspirants for the postponement of the exam which is slated for March 5, 2023.

The Supreme Court on Friday heard the petition seeking postponement of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Post Graduate (NEET PG) 2023 and adjourned the hearing till February 27, Monday.
Two petitions were filed by the NEET PG aspirants for the postponement of the exam which is slated for March 5, 2023.
Why are NEET PG 2023 aspirants are demanding the postponement of the exam?
The NEET aspirants have been demanding the postponement as so many of them were not eligible to appear for the NEET PG 2023 as per the criteria set by NBE. Candidates who want to appear for the exam must complete one year of internship or are likely to complete a year on or before March 31, 2023, as the eligibility criteria demanded.
Speaking about the same in Lok Sabha, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had earlier said the NEET PG 2023 will not be pushed. Moreover, a petition seeking the postponement of the exam was also rejected by Telangana High Court last week.
NEET PG 2023 is scheduled for March 25 and the results will be out tentatively by March 31. Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) and aspirants claimed that if the time between the entrance exam and the counselling is not reduced, it will be a year’s waste for all the candidates.
Speaking to The Indian Express, Dr Rakesh Bagdi Gurjar said the NEET PG aspirants will not be able to apply for jobs during this time as there is a dearth of jobs in the medical industry and offices don’t offer jobs for short time.
Meanwhile, another NEET aspirant died by suicide in Rajasthan’s Kota on Friday. Reports said the 17-year-old was a resident of Badgaon in Uttar Pradesh and was staying in the city for the past two years.
The deceased was found hanging from the ceiling of his hostel room and the police have also recovered a suicide note which revealed that the aspirant was under study pressure and was not attending his coaching classes for a few days.
