3 from Latur family killed as car flips thrice & rests on its side

PUNE: A 61-year-old woman, her son (35) and her brother (48) from Latur district were killed and her brother-in-law (54) was injured when their car veered off the road and flipped thrice before resting on its side on the Pune-Solapur highway at Dalaj village near Bhigwan, about 123km from the city, in the early hours of Friday.
The victims were on way to Pune from Latur to attend a family function. The deceased were identified as Saraswati Mali, her son Sandip, both from Gategaon in Latur district, and Saraswati's brother Kerba Tidke. Saraswati's brother-in-law Chandrakant Gavali suffered injuries.
Sub-inspector Vinayak Dadas-Patil of the Bhigwan police said, "Gavali said they were going to Pune for the house warming ceremony of a man slated to marry his daughter. They left Latur late on Thursday night. Sandip was driving the car."
The officer said Sandip lost control over the wheel at Dalaj village in Indapur taluka around 3am. A case of rash driving and causing death by negligence has been registered against Sandip.
