Piped natural gas meters to be made in Greater Noida

NOIDA: Piped natural gas (PNG) meters for homes will soon be manufactured in DMIC-IITGNL (Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida Limited).
Haryana Gas City Company has bought five acres of land in the industrial township from IITGNL. The company will invest Rs 108 crore in the next three years to set up its unit and manufacture PNG meters, officials said.
Along with this, a company which deals in manufacturing mobile packaging boxes has also bought a plot in the integrated industrial township. These two companies will invest Rs 163 crore and provide employment opportunities to about 1,550 people.
The proposal for allotment of land to these two companies was approved during the DMIC-IITGNL board meeting on Thursday.
"Haryana Gas City Company will give employment to 630 youths. At present, the production of PNG meters in the country is not very high and due to this they are imported from foreign countries ," an official said.
The company dealing in the manufacture of mobile packaging boxes has been allotted 4.6 acres of land in IITGNL. "This company will also invest Rs 55 crore in the next three years and provide employment to 900 youths," the official said.
