Toddler crushed to death under kin’s car in Surat

SURAT: In a tragic incident, a two-year-old girl was crushed to death under a car of a relative while playing outside her house in Godadara.
CCTV footage of the incident which went viral on social media shows negligent driving claimed the toddler’s life.
The girl, Prinjal Jinjala, was playing with other kids outside her maternal grandparents’ house in Shiv Sagar Society on Thursday afternoon. Her father Vashram’s cousin Dinesh Aahir was taking out his car from the parking lot and the girl got crushed under the front wheel.
The girl was walking in the car’s direction. Ahir realized something was wrong when a woman alerted him by waving her hand. The gasses of Aahir’s car were closed. When he got down, he realized the girl was crushed.
Police booked Aahir following a complaint lodged by Vashram. “He is yet to be arrested as the family is busy performing last rites. Aahir was taking out the car from parking when he crushed the girl playing on society’s road,” said a police officer. Vashram, a construction contractor, lives in Ankleshwar and came to his in-law’s house in Godadara with his family.
