Prayagraj: A robber, who with the help of his four aides had allegedly beaten a 45-year-old farmer to death and looted cash, jewellery and mobile from his house at Barambari village on the intervening night of February 17 and 18, was arrested in Kaushambi on Friday.
The robber identified as Govind, a resident of Karari, was nabbed by joint team of Karari and Kaushambi police.
Police said the slain farmer Shivkumar was safeguarding his field when he spotted five men equipped with sticks and iron rods, passing through his filed. When he questioned them, the men beat him to death. They even gagged him and tied his hands and legs. The gang later went to his house and looted cash, jewellery and mobile from his wife. Cops are now looking for absconders including DK, Kalicharan, Gunda and Gyanchandra.tnn
