BENGALURU: India’s attempts to export the light combat aircraft Tejas to
Malaysia proved futile as the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) picked a South Korean supersonic fighter, the KAI FA-50, Korean news agencies reported quoting the maker of the fighter, Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI).
“KAI, the nation’s sole aircraft maker, has bagged a $920 million deal to export 18 FA-50 light attack aircraft to Malaysia, the company announced Friday. KAI signed the contract with Malaysia’s defence ministry after beating rival bidders…” the Korea Times reported, while the Yonhap News Agency also quoted KAI to report the same news.
