Operators of yellow and black taxis along with tourist taxis who have installed digital fare meters have been asked by the state transport department to submit their claims for reimbursement of cost of the meters on or before February 28.
The public notice, however, warns that claims received after the date “will not be entertained.”
Those vehicle owners who have installed the meters within six months from the date specified in the public notice – May 27, 2021 to November 26, 2021 are entitled for reimbursement of cost of digital fare meter.

“The amount will be reimbursed in two instalments. The first instalment of Rs 4,290 after three weeks from the date of installation and operation of digital meter, and the remaining Rs 4,289 after one year after renewal of the yearly data charges and furnishing of proof,” the notification read.
The scheme titled The Goa State Public Reimbursement of Cost of Digital Fare Meter 2021 is valid for the period of two financial years 2021-22 and 2022-23.
