₹3.25 cr property of jailed ex-MLA’s aide attached in Prayagraj
Varanasi: A three-story building worth Rs 3.25 crore, constructed allegedly with illegally earned money by Hanuman Sevak Pandey, an active member of jailed former MLA Vijay Mishra, was attached by Bhadohi police in Prayagraj on Thursday.
SP Bhadohi Anil Kumar said that police got inputs about Pandey’s property in Jhalwa area in Prayagraj as part of its ongoing crackdown against gangsters.
When police started investigating about this property, it came to light that Pandey had purchased the land and constructed a three-storied building on it with illegally earned money and utilising the muscle power of Mishra, he said.
After collecting details, the evaluation of Pandey’s property was done, he said adding, the total value of this property was estimated as Rs 3.25 crore. The investigation report was submitted to district magistrate Bhadohi Gaurang Rathi with the recommendation for confiscation under Gangster Act recently. After getting DM’s order, a joint team of the officials of district administration and police were sent to Prayagraj on Thursday.
With the help of Prayagraj cops, the team of Bhadohi officials completed the formalities of attaching Pandey’s property. Kumar said that Pandey was active in the crime world since 2017 and had been earning money illegally by posing as Mishra’s close aide.
Bhadohi administration and police had already attached many other properties worth several crore rupees of Vijay Mishra, his family and gang members.
With 83 criminal cases, Vijay Mishra is currently lodged in Agra jail.
