DMK, NTK cadres booked for clash in Erode

ERODE: Police have registered cases against DMK and NTK cadres on Thursday in connection with the clash at Veerapanchathram in Erode East on Wednesday.
Police arrested two cadres of NTK, identified as Ganesh Babu and Vijay, residents of Coimbatore, for the clash.
As news of the arrest spread, a large number of NTK cadres assembled in front of the police station and demanded that DMK men too should be arrested.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday night, police booked Seeman under Section 3(1) of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act for his remarks on arunthathiyars. He was also booked under Section 153 b (1)(c) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for creating enmity between people and Section 505 (1)(c) of IPC, for intent to incite any class or community of persons to commit offence against other community.
