Daltonganj: Following four days of suspension of internet services in Palamu since February 15, the Nilamber Pitamber University has extended its last date of filling up the application form for the PhD entrance
test.
The last date has been extended to February 28 from February 22 .
Registrar Rakesh Kumar said, “The university took the decision owing to the suspension of internet services in Palamu as aspiring PhD candidates have to apply both online and offline.”
Pro vice-chancellor Deep Narayan Yadav said, “Many candidates requested me to extend the last date to apply for the PhD entrance test. We understood that the suspension of internet services for four days had adversely affected the candidates.”
The university has, however, made it clear that the written test for 100 marks scheduled for March 22 would remain unchanged. The registrar said, “There will be no change in the written test date for PhD programme which is March 22.”
The NPU is going to hold PhD entrance test after five years as the last one was held in 2017-18 year.
The communal conflagration at Panki which broke out on February 15 had prompted principal secretary of home Rajeev Arun Ekka to order the suspension of internet services in Palamu from February 15 to 16 which was further extended to February 19 as public emergency and public safety.
