Anganwadi workers protest near homes of three MPs in Kolhapur

KOLHAPUR: The Anganwadi workers took out a protest rally to the houses of three MPs from the district on Thursday. The Anganwadi workers have been on a strike for the past four days to press for their demands.
The rally took place at Ruikar Colony chowk, where all the three MPs have their residences.
The District Anganwadi Employees Union have warned that they will not back down until their demands are met. Jayshree Patil, an Anganwadi worker said, “The government is deliberately ignoring our queries. We demand that Anganwadi workers should be given government employee status, wages of maids and helpers should be substantially increased, salary, gratuity, monthly pension should be applied and damaged mobile phones should be replaced immediately.” Comrade Appa Patil said, “A statement was given to the district collector on February 20. Then protest rallies were taken out to the houses of MLAs on February 21 and 22.. While on Thursday, a rally was taken out to the houses of MPs Sanjay Mandlik, Dhairyasheel Mane, and Dhananjay Mahadik.
