Farmer returns favour for receiving goats as aid
Two goats were given to the organisation that helped the farmer
Panaji: A year after a local organisation donated 30 goats to a Dhangar community farmer who lost his animals to a train accident, the farmer has returned the favour by giving a couple of the progeny of the donated goats back to the Good Samaritans.
Two animals of four months each, one male and one female, have been given to the shelter home in Assonora by Canacona-based farmer Navalo Kolekar.
He got in touch with the organisation and insisted that he wished to repay the gesture that helped him stand on his feet again.
“Kolekar speaks a different dialect of Konkani, but communicated to us that he was grateful to us for donating the animals. A year since, the goats have multiplied to 20 more and he wished to repay us by letting us have the joy of raising the little kids,” said Donald Fernandes, founder of the shelter.
