Some of the chants and prayers that echo in the ancient precincts of the Lord Balaji temple in Tirumala date back more than 1,000 years. The temple’s priests take great pride in not letting time chip away at some of these traditions.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), the world’s richest Hindu temple trust board which administers the temple, recently initiated a project to fully automate the laddu prasadam distributed to devotees using German and Australian technology.

The temple priests have never broken the tradition of holding the nine-day Brahmotsvavams festival between September and November annually. And on the other hand, TTD has established wind mills and e-vehicles at Tirumala in a bid to go green.
