The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has recently alerted customers of the State Bank of India (SBI) about fake messages impersonating SBI officials claiming the recipient's YONO account has been blocked.
“A fake message impersonating SBI claims that the recipient's YONO account has been blocked," warns PIB.

"Dear SBI user, Your YONO Account will be blocked today. Please click on the link to update your PAN CARD Number," the message reads.

What SBI customers should do
"Never respond to emails/SMS asking to share your banking details," says PIB. "If you receive any similar message, report it immediately to 'report.phishing@sbi.co.in," it further added.

Safety precaution
According to the SBI website, “Never disclose via text message any personal information, including account numbers, passwords, or any combination of sensitive information that could be used fraudulently."

Use caution: PIB warns SBI customers
"Use caution if you receive a text message expressing an urgent need for you to update your information, activate an account, or verify your identity by calling a phone number or submitting information on a web site. These messages may be part of a phishing scam conducted by fraudsters to capture your confidential account information and commit fraud," the bank mentioned.
