Telegnosis course to teach 'astrological methods for crime detection'

The Gujarat Technological University has started courses in Telegnosis - a mix of Ayurveda, Astrology and Puran - and practical approach to Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta in life, apart from several new courses to achieve the National Education Policy goal of "more holistic and multidisciplinary education".

The university has also started courses in Indian Heritage and Cultural Tourism Management, certificate course in Indic Philosophy, or certificate course in Indic Manuscriptology, MA in Hindu Studies, Diploma in Astrology. It has also started a graduate diploma course in Hindu Culture and Studies along with Bhishma School of Indic Studies and Hindu Council of Australia.

The graduate diploma course in Hindu Culture and Studies aims to provide "foundational knowledge about Hindu philosophy, religious practices and cultural heritage, lessons on how to address incorrect and misleading propaganda against Hindu ethos and skills to promote Sanatan values and their true interpretation".

The two-month course on Telegnosis (diagnosis based on Ayurveda and Astrology) will teach astrological methods for crime detection. Ayurvedic methods of diagnosis entails "preparation for Telegnosis, how to start decoding non-verbal communications around us; how questions emanate ('vaani' and 'pramaan'); how universe came into being and facts about our solar system; mathematical aspects of drawing Kundali - traditionally and non-traditionally ('Aaroodh'); importance of 'Lagn', the 12 Zodiac signs and impact of sun and moon posited there; 'Svar Shaastra' - a detailed explanation in foretelling; lakshan (external and internal) - detailed explanation of its use in foretelling; Indian numerology, chhaayaa shaastra, lamp analysis and how all above subjects help patients and other querists."

Speaking to ET, GTU professor Shruti Anerao, head of Dharohar, School of Indian Knowledge System, said after coming into existence in August 2021, the centre became a full-fledged school of IKS in 2022. So far it has signed six MoUs with establishments working on Indian culture and religion. "We are also planning to introduce several new courses including a diploma in news anchoring that is designed by two senior members of the journalism faculties of the university," Anerao said.
