Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.57% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 11:26AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Coforge(up 1.72 per cent), Tata Consultancy(up 1.34 per cent), Tech Mahindra(up 1.16 per cent), HCL Technologies(up 0.87 per cent) and LTIMindtree Ltd(up 0.79 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Persistent Systems(down 1.34 per cent), MPhasis(down 0.91 per cent), L&T Technology(down 0.46 per cent) and Infosys(down 0.01 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was up 0.57 per cent at 30782.65 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 11.45 points at 17565.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 41.46 points at 59786.44.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., Zee Ent., YES Bank, Suzlon Energy and Vodafone Idea were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Nintec Systems Ltd., Aaron Industries, Finolex Cables, Equitas Small Fin and RM Drip and Sprinkle hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Zee Learn, Zee Ent., SVP Global, Tata Tele and Astron Paper & Board hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
