NOIDA: An additional sessions court on Wednesday sentenced two persons to six years of rigorous imprisonment for attempting to kidnap a person in an SUV.
The additional district government counsel Ratan Singh Bhati said the victim Hatam Singh filed a complaint on October 18,2021, at Ecotech 3 police station. “Four people in a grey Maruti Suzuki Brezza reached my home and told my family members that they wanted to talk to me. I was not home at that time. My family members informed me this over the phone and I soon reached home in my Toyota Fortuner. They said they belonged to the Anil Dujana gang and had come regarding a property dispute. They forcibly pushed me in their Brezza, trying to kidnap me,” he said in his complaint. Hatam’s nephew, Balraj, reached the spot in a car and parked it in such a manner that the SUV could not escape.
Rajesh Kumar Mishra, additional district sessions judge, Gautam Budh Nagar, sentenced Pahalwan and Nagar to six years of rigorous imprisonment and fined them with Rs 20,000 each under IPC Section 364 (kidnapping) and two years of imprisonment under Section 506 (criminal intimidation).
However, Anil Dujana and five others were acquitted for lack of evidence.
