The deceased has been identified as L Srinivasan, 24 of Agaramthen and the injured is G Aravind Kumar, 25 of Vallalar Street.

CHENNAI: A man was electrocuted when he came in contact with a high tension overhead power cable while erecting a shamiyana for a housewarming ceremony at Selaiyur on the outskirts of Chennai on Wednesday night. His friend escaped with minor injuries.
The deceased has been identified as L Srinivasan, 24 of Agaramthen and the injured is G Aravind Kumar, 25 of Vallalar Street.
Police said the two men were erecting a shamiyana on the second floor of a building for a house warming ceremony. An iron rod touched an overhead cable. Srinivasan, who suffered an electric shock, fell off the building to the ground while Aravind fell on the terrace.
