GURGAON: With the change in weather, the state government revised the school timings on Wednesday. The students will have to report to their schools an hour earlier than the existing schedule from Thursday onwards.
The directorate of school education (DSE), in its letter to all the district education officials, announced that the school timings for the state-run schools have been revised. As per the new schedule, the schools that run on single shifts will hold classes from 8am to 2.30pm. The schools with two shifts, however, will hold the first shift from 7am to 12.30pm while the classes for the second shift will be held from 12.45pm to 6.15pm.
Every year the timings are revised in March, but this year it was preponed due to Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) examins to be held from February 27. “Since the weather has changed and it won’t be cumbersome for the students to report to the schools early.Besides, board exams are also being conducted in February, so the timings had to be realigned,” said an education department official. In December, the school timings were changed to 9.30am to 3.30pm.
